1. It’s about the USA and how it’s people came togeather to finally be united as a country
3. ”women, children, men, take it into the palms of your hands” this quote means that the people must take control of their lives as a country and realise and fix their past mistakes that were made (aka: slavery)

Still I rise:

1. The poem is about the past of black Americans and how they were mistreated by the whites, but even after all the abuse the blacks still rise up.
2. to tel, people that you may kick them down and repress them but they will still rise
3. showing that no matter what obstacles are in Maya’s way she will still rise.
